Introducing
Lisa for Westmoreland
A lifelong Democrat and resident of Mt. Pleasant, Lisa Gephart is a mother, grandmother, wife of an AFSCME union member and daughter of an iron worker. As a woman with deep, working class roots and a desire to leave things better than she found them, Lisa brings an important perspective to the ticket and gives voters a choice in November; a choice they deserve.
Known as a long-time Westmoreland County Democratic Committeewoman and community organizer, Lisa's name first appeared on a countywide ballot in 2022 when she ran for, and won, a seat on the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. Receiving the highest number of votes in that race reflects how well-respected and widely known she is. While her experience in these roles has been relatively typical, Lisa's story has taken some wildly unexpected turns. Lisa endured an attack while volunteering and working the polls in 2021, an incident that left her injured but resolute. She is committed to our fair, free elections, counting every vote, and, as County Commissioner, will certify election results.
After receiving the nomination in August, Gephart said, “I am deeply honored to have the support of my family, friends, and community. I look forward to running a campaign we can all be proud of.” Gephart also said she wants to bring a voice to places in the county that don’t often have a seat at the table.
She pledges to work with and for all.
